Will the court accept a certificate from private 1-on-1 sessions?
Yes. California courts accept our completion certificate whether you complete the program in group classes or private 1-on-1 sessions — the curriculum, hours, and credentialing (California State Certified License #CA-AM-2024, CAAMP Approved) are identical. The format you choose is up to you.
Who chooses private sessions instead of group?
Executives and professionals who need confidentiality, public figures, people whose work schedule won’t fit a fixed group time, anyone whose situation involves sensitive details they’d rather not share in a group, or self-referred clients seeking targeted help without a court order. We don’t ask why — both are fully valid choices.
Can I mix private and group sessions?
Yes. Many clients start with a few private sessions to build a relationship with their clinician, then move to group classes for the remaining hours — or vice versa. Total cost depends on the mix you choose. Discuss with your clinician at intake.
How many private sessions will I need?
It depends on your court order. Most first-time misdemeanor orders are 12 hours — so twelve 1-hour private sessions ($199 each + $70 intake = $2,458 total). 26-week and 52-week programs require one session per week for the full duration. We’ll confirm the exact requirement during intake before you pay for sessions.
Are private sessions available evenings and weekends?
Yes. Private sessions are scheduled directly with your matched clinician, so we can fit Monday–Saturday evenings or Saturday/Sunday mornings. Stack multiple sessions per week to finish faster.
Do I need a court order to enroll in private sessions?
No. Private 1-on-1 sessions are open to both court-mandated clients and self-referred clients who want professional anger management support without a legal requirement. Self-referred clients still receive a completion certificate if requested (useful for employers, family, or personal records).
